Meet James
After spending his early years in the small town of Gulgong, NSW, James completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from Newcastle University in 2019. Subsequently, he started working at PhyxYou Physiotherapy, located within the Port Macquarie Sports Medicine Centre. While continuing his academic journey, James is presently pursuing his Masters of Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy at Latrobe University. As he moves back to Port Stephens, James plans to leverage his experience in the region. James has a keen interest in developing junior athletes and treating sports-related injuries, making him an ideal choice for anyone from elite athletes to beginners to those struggling with injuries. He has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping individuals achieve their goals, regardless of their experience level.
Sporting Background
James is no stranger to high-level sporting competitions, having competed at both national and state levels in swimming, athletics, and Oztag (which he continues to participate in). On top of that, he has lent his expertise in physiotherapy to elite athletes across a range of sports, including rugby league, rugby union, swimming, cross country, oztag, netball, basketball, and many others. It's not uncommon to find James at sporting events in the region, where he delivers exceptional physiotherapy advice to athletes dealing with injuries.
ACL Rehabilitation
James has recently completed advanced training in the area of ACL rehabilitation, which he expertly incorporates into his rehabilitation programs. Patients have access to our top-of-the-line gym facilities, where they can work on these customised programs. Given the intricate and time-intensive nature of ACL rehabilitation, it's vital to trust an experienced and knowledgeable clinician with the resources to support you throughout the process.
Junior athlete development and injuries
James is also well-versed in developing rehabilitation and athletic progression plans for junior athletes. He recognizes that young athletes have unique requirements at different stages of their athletic development and has the knowledge and experience necessary to provide world-class guidance, support, and rehabilitation programs. Our state-of-the-art facilities are tailored to ensure that young athletes have access to everything they need to achieve their peak performance and reach their goals.
