Malcolm

Physiotherapist

Meet Malcolm

Malcolm Young is a passionate physiotherapist with a strong background in sport, performance rehabilitation, and return-to-play management. Drawing from both his clinical experience and high-level football career, Malcolm is committed to helping patients recover from injury, optimise performance, and confidently return to the activities they enjoy. His approach combines evidence-based rehabilitation with practical strength and conditioning principles tailored to each individual’s goals.

Malcolm completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), alongside a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in the United States. Throughout his career, he has been involved in high-performance sporting environments across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States through both his playing and physiotherapy experience, developing a strong understanding of athlete rehabilitation and performance demands.

Alongside his clinical work, Malcolm has played football at a high level across New Zealand, the United States, and now Australia, where he currently competes in the National Premier Leagues (NPL). His playing background provides him with firsthand insight into the physical and psychological demands athletes face throughout injury and return-to-sport processes.
Malcolm has also worked as a physiotherapist within elite football environments, including roles with Vanuatu United FC in the OFC Pro League and the Eastern Suburbs AFC Women’s National League side
